How long can payment terms between businesses be in the EU?
Under the Late Payment Directive a contractual payment period between businesses may not exceed 60 calendar days, unless longer terms are expressly agreed and are not grossly unfair to the creditor. If no date is agreed, interest runs from 30 days after the invoice is received.
Member states may keep or introduce rules that are stricter for the creditor, so national law can set shorter limits.
